I was walking with Sprout last night and noticed different service man holes covers everywhere, not sure why I did not notice them before.
They were not BT ones they were CabelTel, which went onto be NTL and now virgin.

so looks likes my area was cabled but not to the house… does anyone know why? Did they run out of money? would BT be using this cable for their “SuperFast” broadband?

No idea. However my Virgin broadband has been playing up for a couple of weeks ….
The cable companies usually have junction boxes on the surface if they have services available, also you’ll spot the trade mark rush job cable laying into houses ( green cable protector sticking out of flower beds etc ).

Thanks, the estate is about 15 years old and there are no rush cable jobs anywhere, maybe they wanted to get us in the valleys cabled up and then thought let them have dialup…
